    Engaging stakeholders and team culture for more success
    As a leader, your work involves managing and engaging stakeholders at various times. These stakeholders could be within or outside your team or organisation. Stakeholders include your team members, your boss, peers, partners, customers and even the family. How successful you are in your job will, in part, depend on how good you are at engaging and managing your stakeholders.

    Having an effective mindset will enable you to respond, manage and engage your stakeholders effectively and constructively. This will lead to even more positive work results and relationships. Your mindset will also set the tone and direction for your team culture.

    Profile of Tan Swee Heng
    Tan Swee Heng is a highly engaging and interactive Shared Leadership Team Coach, recognized for his expertise in coaching leaders, teams, and organizations to embrace shared leadership, drive transformative change, and advance sustainability for the planet. He is the author of the widely acclaimed book Coaching In The Moment — How Busy Leaders Can Make More Impact with Less Time, and co-author of Shared Leadership Disciplines — A Better Way to Lead and Coach, both of which have made significant contributions to the field.

    Swee Heng’s coaching and facilitation style is rooted in being fully present with his clients. He creates a safe, empowering space that fosters engagement and ownership of the coaching journey. From 2000 to 2010, he served as Asia Pacific Human Resource Director and a key member of the Regional Management Board for Reed Business, a division of RELX plc. He was previously the Head of Human Resources at Deloitte Singapore (1997–2000), and from 1979 to 1997, he held strategic and operational leadership roles in the Singapore Armed Forces.

    Based in Singapore, Swee Heng is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) and holds the Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF), with over 3,000 coaching hours. He is also a certified Coach Supervisor and has strong experience in Shared Leadership and Sustainability Team Coaching. He has been in the coaching industry since 2010.

    In addition to his professional contributions, Swee Heng serves on the Board of Council of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Society—an organization founded in 1964 dedicated to developing leadership and management excellence.

    Beyond his professional life, Swee Heng is deeply committed to personal well-being. He maintains a daily fitness and diet routine, treasures quiet time with God, and finds joy in cooking for his wife and two grown children. On weekends, he enjoys relaxing getaways with his wife of over 30 years in Johor Bahru, Malaysia—savoring good coffee, delicious food, and quality time together.
